The anti-spray mud flaps manufactured by Kingom for trucks meet all the homologation requirements for the dissipation of water, currently established by the European Parliament and the Council Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of November 27, 2019.

The previous Regulation (CE) nº 109/2011 establishes the obligatory nature of use of anti-spray systems in vehicles of categories N and O with a maximum mass greater than 3.5 tons. Those of category N are the ones intended for the transport of goods with at least four wheels, while those of category O are trailers and semi-trailers (in both cases according to directive 70/156 / EEC).

It was in 1991 when the European public authorities agreed on the use of anti-spray systems to reduce the number of accidents on the road for the same reason: the upward water spray caused by heavy vehicles wheels’ movement. The obligation of using mudguards, mud flaps and external mud flaps fitted with an air / water dissipating system is intended to prevent those who share the road from losing visibility due to receiving an excess of water on their windshields. Also due to the impact of stones that can be thrown up from the asphalt.

The regulation of the European Union’s homologation procedure is often revisited with the consequent modification of some of its annexes. Currently, the absence of anti-spray systems or their deterioration in a vehicle subject to this obligation leads to the need of repeating the mandatory technical inspection.
